Anthony Crolla claimed the vacant WBO inter-continental lightweight title in impressive style by beating Gavin Rees over 12 rounds at the Bolton Arena. Former WBA light-welterweight champion Rees was expected to bounce back from his brave defeat against WBC lightweight king Adrien Broner. But despite the Welshman's trademark busy start and some late flurries, Crolla's accuracy clinched the upset. The judges made it 115-113 and 116-113 to Crolla, with one scoring it 115-115.
